SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING/PUBLIC HEARING AGENDA

WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 11, 2024 @ 6:30 P.M. 

Notice is hereby given that a Meeting of the Jefferson City Council will be held on Wednesday September 11, 2024 at 6:30 PM at the Jefferson Transportation Center at 305 E. Austin Street, Jefferson, Texas, at which time the subjects to be discussed or considered or upon which any formal action may be taken are as listed below.

  4. DISCUSSION ITEM – Public Hearing on the Proposed Budget for the 2024/2025 Fiscal Year. 

ANY RESIDENT IN ATTENDANCE MAY ADDRESS THE COUNCIL REGARDING THE PROPOSED BUDGET FOR THE OCTOBER 1, 2024 THROUGH SEPTEMBER 30, 2025 FISCAL YEAR. 

THIS BUDGET WILL RAISE MORE TOTAL PROPERTY TAXES THAN LAST YEAR’S BUDGET BY $15,133 OR 1.73%, AND OF THAT AMOUNT, $19,327 IS TAX REVENUE TO BE RAISED FROM NEW PROPERTY ADDED TO THE TAX ROLL THIS YEAR. 

  1. ACTION ITEM 
  1. Consider, discuss, and/or approve Ordinance No. 2024-09-1 to Adopt the 2024-2025 Fiscal Year Budget that will raise more total property taxes than last year’s budget by $15,133 or 1.73%, and of that amount, $19,327 is tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year.

Polk Street, a place readily accessible to the general public at all times, on this the 6th day of September, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. and remained to posted until September 12, 2024, the day following the adjournment of the Public Hearing.
