Notice is hereby given that a meeting of the Jefferson City Council will be held on Monday, August 26, 2024 at 6:30 PM at the Transportation Center at 305 E. Austin Street, Jefferson, Texas, at which time the subjects to be considered or upon which any formal action may be taken are as listed below. Items do not have to be taken in the order shown on the meeting notice. Unless removed from the consent agenda, items identified with the consent agenda will be acted on at one time.

- Must sign up in advance on the list and must limit to 3 minutes conversation.
- Jefferson City Council may ask questions but shall not discuss items that are not on the agenda.
- On a subject that is not on the agenda a person may add an item to a future City Council Agenda by contacting City Hall. The deadline for an item to be placed on an agenda with all corresponding documents for consideration is 5pm the Wednesday before the regularly scheduled meeting.
- Public Comments will only be taken during the Public Comments section of the agenda.
- While civil public criticism is not prohibited; disorderly conduct or disturbance of the peace as prohibited by law shall be cause for the chair to terminate the offender’s time to speak.
- BUDGET WORKSHOP
a. There will be no action taken at this workshop. This meeting is for a budget workshop on the preliminary proposed 2024/2025 fiscal budget that will be presented and discussed. Recommendations for adjustments may be made to the preliminary proposed budget, however, there will be no action taken on approving the budget at this time.
- ACTION ITEMS
a. Consider, discuss, and/or approve granting the Mayor the ability to issue a letter of support on behalf of the City to any broadband internet supplier who wishes to apply for the Texas Broadband Development Office Boot II grant program for use in the City.
b. Consider, discuss, and/or approve appointment to Planning and Zoning by Ald. Bubba Haggard.
c. Consider, discuss, and/or approve the proposed 2024 Tax Rate.
d. Consider, discuss, and/or approve SPI’s recommendation of award to a contractor for the ARPA Owens St. Force Main.
e. Consider, discuss, and/or approve SPI’s recommendation of award to a contractor for the ARPA Polk St. Sanitary Sewer Improvements.
