PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION REGULAR MEETING

 Notice is hereby given that a meeting of the Jefferson City Planning and Zoning Commission will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at 5:00 PM at the Transportation Center at 305 E. Austin Street, Jefferson, Texas, at which time the subjects to be considered or upon which any formal action may be taken are as listed below.  Items do not have to be taken in the order shown on the meeting notice.  Unless removed from the consent agenda, items identified with the consent agenda will be acted on at one time.

Public Comments – Must sign up in advance on the list and must limit to 3 minutes conversation.  Jefferson City Council may ask questions but shall not discuss items that are not on the agenda.  On a subject that is not on the agenda a person may add an item to a future City Council Agenda by contacting City Hall. The deadline for an item to be placed on an agenda with all corresponding documents for consideration is 5pm the Wednesday before the regularly scheduled meeting. While civil public criticism is not prohibited; disorderly conduct or disturbance of the peace as prohibited by law shall be cause for the chair to terminate the offender’s time to speak.

 a. Announcement City Ordinance Number 2023-11-1 establishing the Jefferson Historic District is in effect.

b. Review Chair’s proposed presentation to City Council as annual report of the Commission’s work.

c. Review 2024 schedule of regular meetings.

d. Introduce Vol 2 of the 2017 Planning and Zoning Commission work.

e. Review available maps belonging to the City of Jefferson relative to Planning and Zoning

  1. WORKSHOP

There will be no action taken during the workshop.  This agenda item is for a workshop to open the floor for discussion on the topics listed below. There will be no action taken on approving the discussion topics contained within the workshop at this time. Items may be placed on a future agenda for possible action at a later date.

 a. Continuation of prior meeting discussions of the draft of city of Jefferson Zoning Regulations (printed April 15, 2003) Article I, Sections 1-10 and Article II, Sections 1-3.

b. Review of Vol 2, part of the Zoning Regulations of the 2017 Commission

The Jefferson Planning and Zoning Commission reserves the right to adjourn into Executive Session at any time during the Course of the meeting to discuss any of the matters listed above, as authorized by the Texas Government Code.
