Notice is hereby given that a meeting of the Jefferson City Council will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at 5:30 PM at the Transportation Center at 305 E. Austin Street, Jefferson, Texas, at which time the subjects to be considered or upon which any formal action may be taken are as listed below. Items do not have to be taken in the order shown on the meeting notice. Unless removed from the consent agenda, items identified with the consent agenda will be acted on at one time.

Public Comments – Limited to citizens and business owners of the City of Jefferson, must sign up in advance on the list and must limit to 3 minutes conversation. On a subject that is not on the agenda a person may add an item to a future City Council Agenda by contacting City Hall a minimum of 5 days prior to a regular City Council Meeting

9. ACTION ITEMS
a. Consider, discuss and/or approve a Petition to declare the alley located between Lot 9 and Lot 10 of Block 74 in the Urquhart Addition of the City of Jefferson to be abandoned and closed and to convey to the adjoining property owners.
b. Consider, discuss and/or approve Kay Terhune’s request to have dead tree limbs hanging over the house located at 107 N. Main Street to be trimmed at the City’s expense or to allow Ms. Terhune to hire a tree trimmer at her expense.
c. Consider, discuss and/or approve removing or trimming a live tree located at the Jefferson Masonic Lodge, 310 N. Alley Street, at the City’s expense.
d. Consider, discuss and/or approve a resolution authorizing the imposition of a penalty up to 20% for collection costs on delinquent taxes
e. Consider, discuss and/or approve renewing and/or amending the Marion County Chamber of Commerce lease agreement on the usage of the former Jefferson Police Department building on Austin Street.
f. Consider, discuss and/or approve professional services/legal advice and structuring possible expansion of extraterritorial jurisdiction and annexation of property adjacent to the City of Jefferson.
g. Consider, discuss and/or approve use of funds to clear undergrowth on and/or around the Jefferson Howe Train Trestle.
h. Consider and/or approve 2023 TMRS Employee Retirement Plan City Contribution Rate of .72%
i. Consider, discuss and/or approve finalizing the 2022 Street Campaign and publishing notice for bid acceptance in the paper.
