Notice is hereby given that a meeting of the Jefferson City Council will be held on April 20, 2021 at 5:30 PM at the Transportation Center at 305 E. Austin Street, Jefferson, Texas, at which time the subjects to be considered or upon which any formal action may be taken are as listed below. Items do not have to be taken in the order shown on the meeting notice. Unless removed from the consent agenda, items identified with the consent agenda will be acted on at one time.

Public Comments – Limited to citizens and business owners of the City of Jefferson, must sign up in advance on the list and must limit to 3 minutes conversation. Jefferson City Council may ask questions but shall not discuss items that are not on the agenda. On a subject that is not on the agenda a person may add an item to a future City Council Agenda by contacting City Hall a minimum of 5 days prior to a regular City Council Meeting

i. Consider and/or approve hiring/promotion of Mary Ayala from Cadet to a Jefferson Police Officer including associated pay increase to $34K annual per prior approval, as she graduated from the Kilgore Police Academy on April 15, 2021.

a. Consider and/or approve Petition, Resolution, and Deed to declare an
abandoned alley located between Lots 9 and 10 in Block 65 of the Alley Addition
to the City of Jefferson to be abandoned and closed and to convey it to Jacques Jaubert
and Lisa Hickok
b. Consider and/or approve Special Event Application for Annual Pilgrimage Parade for
May 1, 2021
c. Consider and/ or approve Special Event Application for Battle of Big Cypress Bayou from
June 4, 2021 to June 6, 2021
d. Consider and/or approve building permit application for Allen Wayne Smith on N. Main
Street.
e. Consider and/or approve building permit application for Allen Wayne Smith on N. Main
Street.
f. Consider and/or approve building permit application for James Souter for 520 N.
Walnut
g. Consider and/or approve Resolution submitting nominee(s) as candidate(s)
for the election of the Marion Central Appraisal District Board of Directors
h. Consider and/or approve the City of Jefferson to fund an additional $2500 to support a price increase to the JSA for fireworks during the July 2021 event (from Admin wages)
i. Consider and/or approve SPI’s recommendation of award for the 2021 Streets project
j. Consider and/or approve SPI’s recommendation of award for the 2021 DR project, contingent upon final clearance for construction by the funding agency (GLO grant)
9. EXECUTIVE SESSION
The Jefferson City Council reserves the right to adjourn into Executive Session at any time
during the course of this meeting to discuss any of the matters listed above, as authorized
by Texas Government Code.
